Salon Maxivive - Queering design with House of Bodega

On August 21, we welcome Salon Maxivive back to SHEBANG, this time for a special evening featuring the ballroom house House of Bodega.

Salon Maxivive is a reciprocal initiative by Nigerian fashion designer and activist Papa Oyeyemi and an ongoing platform for dialogue and bringing together artists, thinkers, and communities through intimate salon gatherings.

​The evening will unfold as a dinner interwoven with fashion, ballroom culture, and an open practice led by House of Bodega. The gathering, where Nigerian jollof rice will be served, will bring together a diverse and inspiring mix of creatives, dancers, cultural workers, and members of the ballroom community. ​

Together with House of Bodega, Oyeyemi invites you to join an evening that creates space for exchange on fashion, dance, identity, and the history and spirit of ballroom culture. Whether you are completely new to ballroom or already part of the scene, this is an invitation to participate. Come ready to move and experience the joy, freedom, and community that ballroom creates. To spark meaningful conversations, new insights, friendships, and future collaborations.
